BIOGRAPHY
Ghanim Al-Muftah is born on May 5-2002. He is on his way to his university career to major political science, with a goal to become a future ambassador. Despite his disability, He enjoys sports such as scuba diving, skateboarding and rock climbing. He was born with a rare condition called Caudal Regression Syndrome (CDS), but rather than allow it to stunt his life, he has learnt to overcome the obstacles that life presents him, and this is what makes him a positive and inspiring person.
Caudal Regression Syndrome causes its patient to be born without the lower half of this body. This is the case with Ghanim. Naturally, one would expect him to use a wheelchair, but he insists on moving around on his hands because he believes that he should make use of everything with which he is blessed rather than focus on what he doesn’t have.
Many people had suggested that Ghanim’s mother abort him prior to his being born – as they had believed it would save him and his mother from the suffering that this disability would bring. Courageously, Ghanim’s parents decided not to go ahead with it and they agreed to be there to help him at all times, “I will be his left leg and you will be his right leg”.

Ghanim is the founder and owner of Gharissa Ice Cream, a company based in Qatar. Ghanim is the youngest Qatari entrepreneur celebrating his success and expanding business. Launched in January 2014, Ghanim who was then 9 years old uses his mother’s secret recipe to create a 5 star ice cream experience available in Qatar which is now expanding through franchise abroad. Ghanim today is actively involved in the development. He seeks to expand his business and open franchises across the entire Gulf region.
